A course to discuss concepts in the following area
- Genetics
- Cell cycle and regulation
- Recombinant DNA technology
The first Module is about Mendalian genetics, Extensions, pedigree analysis and other related concepts of classical and molecular genetics.
Module 2, is providing a connecting link between the mendalian concepts and the chromosome theory of inheritance. The discussion of crossing over and its mechanisms, linkage, and mechanisms are the focus topics. Gene transfer techniques in prokaryotes with emphasis on interrupted mating technique are also given.
The third module is all about the cell cycle and its regulation. A detailed study of mitosis and meiosis in molecular level is done here.
rDNA technology with basic concepts is discussed in module 4 and various applications are studied in the last one.
